#audiomo day 4: One of the things we do with karaoke is theme nights. This one was karaoke rulette, and we were given a song at random. Mine was California Dreaming, and it's not really a song I would've chocsen for myself to do. But I had fun trying to do all the parts. https://darcyandholly.com/karaoke/california-dreaming.m4a
@dhsholly [dragonscave.space] This is really good.
@changeling Thank you so much!
@dhsholly [dragonscave.space] Of course. I don't say it often in relation to karaoke, I'm afraid.
@dhsholly nicely done, this is what I'd call an easy hard song. the parts aren't super super technical, what they are is precise
@cordova5029 Thanks. I actually really struggle with harmonies. I sort of cheated with this one, the karaoke track store I use, let's you split up the track, and they had a lot of the vocals split, so I was able to isolate a lot of the harmonies. And record them that way. But I struggle a lot picking them out by ear.
@dhsholly I struggle picking out the *exact*, harmonies. I have no problem harmonizing, but that's what I mean, you have to get those, exactery, exactery, yes, exactery right. The mommas and the poppas were really fun harmonically. So were spanky and our gang, not sure if you've heard of them, but they're fun too.
@cordova5029 I'm pretty bad at harmonizing on the fly. If someone plays it, I can sing it back no problem, but hearing it and harmonizing on the fly are really difficult for me.
@dhsholly What I struggle with is, singing the part I"M supposed to, all the time. I can sing a third up, or a 5th up or what ever, and be pretty accurate on the thing, but let's take a song like more than words by extreme, I'd probably start singing one part, then switch to the other, then go back to the first part I sang. I know how harmony works, but doing it flawlessly is sometimes a struggle. My name is not Brian Willson or John philips lol.
@cordova5029 Yeah, that can be hard. I often want to go to the higher note all the time, because growing up, I was a first soprano most of the time.
@dhsholly Very nicely done.
@robini71 Thank you so much.
