I had the last two of my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday. Usually the local dental anesthetic is supposed to wear off after 5 hours or so... and the first time I did, it wore off after about 3. That's fine.
But this time, over a day later, it's still quite numb. And I'm scared. I have another appointment on monday because of it but still.
I even told them that I hate it when anything is numb. It's probably fine but I'm still very anxious. Eating literally anything just feels so very wrong. I really, really don't like it.

I've just not had any luck at all with physical health these past few years. I'm trying not to be overwhelmed but it's a struggle sometimes.

I really, really, really want feeling back in my tongue...

The longer this goes on for the more worried I am that it won't come back.

Went to the same place that did the surgery. Got poked in the tongue a bunch, and I was told that they might have accidentally pulled at the nerves there. But I was able to feel the pokes so I'm told it'll heal. It better. This is very uncomfortable!

@talon I had my wisdom teeth taken out a year ago as well and was really nervous. I had read a lot of people’s experiences online to get an idea of what to expect and some were talking about the same thing as you. Wisdom teeth really suck, and so do anaesthetics and syringes. But I’m certain your tongue will go back to normal very soon, I wish you the best of luck!!! :blobcathuggies:

@Phalio oh god I hate syringes... yeah from what I've been told, it's pretty easy to accidentally come into contact with nerves while doing surgery there so that's most likely what happened. The worst part is I can't really tell if it's actually getting better or not because it's happening so slowly! I'm pretty sure it is but it's very hard to tell. :drgn_confused:
