In small doses! My long ATLA #fanfic actually has a whole chapter called "Letters" providing excerpts from letters as entries into the circumstances of my widely-dispersed characters in the falling action. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6821006/48/Shadow-of-the-Dragon-King One thing I particularly enjoyed was that I had an opening quote for each chapter of this work, and I opened the "Letters" chapter with a quote from a real-life letter. The quotes were somewhat odd in retrospect, since I kinda broke the secondary world illusion by using real Earth quotes instead of making up in-world ones xD In retrospect I really wanted to be writing historical fiction even back then.

I'm kinda...happy? with how my new Alana story is coming together, looking forward to sharing it.

I just had this comment on a #DoctorWho story of mine that was posted today:

"This felt like stepping right into an episode that was never filmed. The fire sequence was intense and visceral, but what really struck me was how tender the aftermath was. There is more Don Quixote fan fiction than Three Musketeers fan fiction. (Although way more stories that uses three musketeers as a name for a story in another fandom.)
