Sometimes I really wish I could make a nice, simple, side scrolling audio game first person shooter. Just going through environments, clearing out enimies, getting upgrades, that's as much of a story as I'd want. Sometimes it's just kind of fun to get in the zone and blaze away at stuff without having to think too much. I used to like playing endless on audio defense for that reason. Dang! I really miss that game engine, nothing I've played since comes close to it. I wish I still had the first Papa Sangre come to that, I loved playing it so much.
@lulu_bear I created a game basically down to the exact description, it's for Windows though. Reason I mention that is you mention iOS games.
@Brynify @lulu_bear Oh she wants it for Windows.
@Brynify @brianhartgen Oh yay! We hasses it. I'll be trying it out after my daily Pokemon fix.
@lulu_bear @Brynify No you won't, I've got some things for you to do first, then you can.
@brianhartgen @Brynify Well peh! I'll go on strike! I will! Giggling.
@lulu_bear @brianhartgen Hahaha! well, whenever you do get around to trying it, either of you can feel free to poke me with any questions, suggestions, criticisms, bugs, problems, complaints, or otherwise you may encounter while obtaining, setting up, launching, playing or even quitting the game!
@Brynify @lulu_bear @brianhartgen oh, and lulu, once you get so high in levils, I don't know when, watch out for the I don't know what to call it, but it whipes out *everything* it touches, including you. don't even try shooting it, as there is nothing you can do to distroy it. you have to jump over it.
@jamminjerry @lulu_bear @brianhartgen in the code, it's called the bull. Fittingly named, I'd say.
@Brynify @jamminjerry @lulu_bear @brianhartgen I fricking hate hate hate hate the bull, it's so annoying. in my opinion, you should be able to defend yourself against it somehow, either by being able to shoot missiles or grenades or something at it. either that or make the sound it makes louder. because when there's a lot of activity going on, you can barely hear it until it's right on you, and by then, it's too late. I realize that if you die you need only restart the game and you're back where you left off, but I dunno I am just not at all a fan of insta-kill things unless there's something you can use to defend yourself against them.
@cary5871 @jamminjerry @lulu_bear @brianhartgen Oh you can, but it's there to defend against people who for example just leave their game unattended. This way it basically ensures you're actually *playing* the game and not just letting it grind and play itself.
@Brynify @jamminjerry @lulu_bear @brianhartgen oh I totally understand that, but it would be nifty if there was a way to actually defend yourself against it. And I guess I'm still low enough in level that I most certainly can't leave the game unattended, I'm always being attacked from both sides of the map.
@cary5871 @jamminjerry @lulu_bear @brianhartgen Hmmm. I'll have to think. I do like the missile idea. Maybe you can fire a missile at it and if you're fast enough boom!
@Brynify @jamminjerry @lulu_bear @brianhartgen I'm also wondering, what is best to put points into? I've been putting them into health but not sure if that's the best thing.
@cary5871 @Brynify @lulu_bear @brianhartgen you actually want to put them not only into health, but your armer, and your defence like what damage you do. I can't remember what it is called now, but that will help your knife, bullets, ETC do more damage.
@jamminjerry @Brynify @lulu_bear @brianhartgen oh. that's damage boost I think. ok cool. thanks.
@cary5871 @jamminjerry @Brynify @lulu_bear @brianhartgen not only that, but range, armor, speed, and cartridge.
@cary5871 @Brynify @lulu_bear @brianhartgen oh and how far your weapons can hit innomies. that will help you out too.
