Brutal Bass Drop

Since people seemed to like this, I continued a little bit. Now, all I need is a suitably dark intro, breakdown, outro and I guess some last polish.

Also, before that, my last post was 2 weeks ago. Halp! Need more content!

why can people never do webdev properly

HTML over CSS. Get the markup right first, then make it look good. Stop it with the divs! One more span as a button or paragraph as a menu bar and I'm going to <strangle />

This internet still feels surreal. I can download hundreds of gigabytes in just minutes. It's insane. I must be dreaming. Even after the month of having it. I just haven't woken up in all this time. Right?

Microsoft

Anyways... I'm done now. I hate big tech just as much as the next, but seriously. Thanks to all those engineers that put in time to make this work. You're saving my life.

They could just as easily not care. Do what Sublime Text or Atom does and literally just not work at all, or do what the Jetbrains IDE's do and work somewhat yet with many issues, all of which reported numerous times, without any resolution in sight. Sadly it doesn't look that much better on Linux. Screen readers in the terminal have issues which can be worked around, but ironically make a command line app less efficient than an electron code editor. How sad.

Thanks for making my life as a professional blind app/web dev easier. Thanks for even making things like the visual designer in Visual Studio work somewhat. And thanks to the people writing screen readers and addons and accessibility fixes like NVDA+addons to allow me to make a living writing computer programs. To allow me to learn about these things at least somewhat close to how someone without my disability would. There's no way I'm taking that for granted.

So even though I might piss a few people off with this, I'm really glad that they at least give two shits. For now, anyway.

You know, there are many reasons to hate Microsoft, all of them valid - but they do care about accessibility. Much more than they used to. It's because of them that we can enjoy modern IDE features like full auto completion, parameter hints, code navigation. I'm so, so happy that things like VS Code and Visual Studio exist. Without them I am not sure where I would be. Nothing else does this accessibly at least to screen readers.

I want to take an image recognition AI and run all the pictures that have collected in my media_attachments folder on Mastodon through it. Hundreds of gigs of images. Am curious.

My god! Finally good internet! I can't believe it! Being stuck with 16 mbit for all my life... and suddenly being upgraded to 1 gigabit... still feels surreal

That moment when one of your cats figures out how to open your cupboards and then spends significant time while you're away rearranging everything

That said, for some reason, this H2N has some light static in the background that disappears for a few seconds every once in a while, then comes back, while using the internal microphones. That... is very unfortunate.

There's some light thunder going on here and since I think it's rather relaxing I thought I'd share.

Aha! The good old trick of just... nuking the audio driver completely and rebooting a couple of times, like 3 or 4 times or so, works. Windows is magical! ha...haha...hahaha...hahahasldkjfhaslkdfjasljkdf

Work laptop had Bang & Oluffsen garbage software to do some crappy noise reduction (on the output! not the mic!) while on a voip call. Naturally I tried removing it because, well, who wants that? Now it's stuck doing the noise reduction on the output forever. Ever since I've been frantically trying to reinstall that god damned thing. Ugh! I don't get it! Whyyyyyyyyy!
