I fucking hate discord's mobile interface. Everything is constantly broken and nothing does what I want anymore. This thing is a pile of explosive shit. That's all I will say, although I could create a 20 page essay on how fucked this stupid interface is
@Kaliah oh create it, I'd read it :)
@cordova5029 I’ve been very tempted to. On multiple occasions. I hate, hate hate hate hate that stupid interface, and will continue to hate it until the end of its, or my, existence
@Kaliah I wish discord in general wasn't so damn clunky. it's very desktop usable, but but... it's not a pleasant experience. I have people I talk to on it, but they're also places that aren't it so... I haven't had the cord loaded in about, 3 months and you know what? I'm cool with that.
@cordova5029 I use it almost constantly, because that’s where all my people are. Everyone I talk to regularly uses discord, and I haven’t bothered to try to get my most important people to move somewhere else. Mostly because I don’t know where I’d even move to. I just have so much stuff on Discord that it’s not very possible for me to move right now. Doesn’t stop me from hating their bullshit interface, though. Desktop is fine, mobile is really not fine
@Kaliah completely valid :)
@cordova5029 I had the same stupid issue with telegram. A significant amount of my people were on there a few years ago, then they broke the hell out of the interface and I had to move. Dumb companies and they’re flashy new interfaces that don’t honor accessibility.
@Kaliah that's the way of it. I used to have everyone on skype back when skype was cool, then they brbrbrbrbroke it into millions of inaccessible stupid pieces, well it's accessible but it's a pain in the sphincter. THen twitter, now masto, and even mroe now, thansk to the cake tg.
@cordova5029 @Kaliah I still use Skype, believe it or not. The main reason is talking to my mom. First, the sound quality is good, and second, it endures our super long conversations.
@cordova5029 @menelion @Kaliah There's still nothing better for spontaneously merging calls. If you're on a call and get an incoming call on Skype, you can simply merge them with one click. Nothing else does that to this day other than SIP systems.
@nick @menelion @Kaliah this again is very true. I"m not hating skype, it's just outlived it's usefullness to *me*, not globally just, my preference for things is team talk. But tha'ts because usually I"m listening to and playing down it, stereo audio. But for just a conversation, phone like, skype can't be beat.
@Kaliah To me their desktop interface is also this.
@menelion Not me, their desktop interface is fine. Sure, I have a couple of issues with it, but the mobile one is where I really, really have big problems. The desktop one makes sense to me with the hotkeys and what not, the mobile one is just total garbage
@Kaliah Probably that's because I'm a huge fan of Slack. To me, if developing an app in Electron and alikes at all, that's very close to how it must be done for accessibility. With Discord… I tried, I didn't really get it.
@Caoimhe @Kaliah Yes, I was lucky enough that they made it accessible just before I found my previous job. there we used Slack and I was happy. We once tried to use Teams for everything (we used Slack for chats, Microsoft Teams for calls), but it was just awful. Slack does almost everything right: channels, messages, message editing, emojis, Windows notifications, everything is just intuitive.
@Kaliah It's also got the bug I'm hitting with not being able to answer calls on the incoming call screen, unless it got fixed in 226.1. Has that been broken for you too?
@BTyson I'm not sure. I've been able to answer calls from the thing where they pop up, although recently it's been strange with joining the call. Like it answers, but i have to click a join voice button to actually join the call, even though I answered already. It's dumb
@Kaliah Where did you answer from? Is it the thing that says like, answer call button, like it does for a regular phone call?
@BTyson I did a two finger double tap when the call came in.
