Hmm. I wondered while watching voyager. Why do people get thrown to the floor when voyager is hit, but not when it performs rapit movements? Maybe this is just described in a misleading way by the audio description, but maybe there's an actual explanation for it.
@SorenApplicati1 they have inertial dampeners. For planned maneuvers they are working in concert with the engines and can perfectly counteract the effects.
Attacks and outside forces are best effort dampening and cannot be perfectly eliminated.
