I want to archive data on them, some videos but also some personal data.
What brands have a really good reputation?
What burners/cd drives are really, really solid and won't dmaage my cd's?
I'm going to use them for purposes as well.

@Stealthy While I can't answer your specific question, I would strongly advise you to keep copies on other media or places. If it's important to you, never keep only one copy, no matter what medium it's on or where it's located! All media can and will eventually become unreadable over time. Also, the greatest, most secure archive in the world is worthless if it gets stolen, destroyed by fire/flood/tornado, etc.
