So to all the geeky people here on the #dragonscave.. I may have to replace a windows computer and having been apple for so very long I kinda don’t know where to start. I’d be using NVDA as the screenreader. Anybody got any tips for me?
@sillyblindharper What do you need help with? Setting up the screen reader is as easy as copying over your username7application data/roaming/NVDA folder on to your new box.
@oriol_gomez92 Hey there- I need help deciding what box to buy. What should I be looking for?
@sillyblindharper it depends on what you want to do with it realy. For most office tasks, gaming, etc
@oriol_gomez92 What kinda specs should I be looking for? I use it to broadcast and do some braille stuff not supported in Mac land.
@sillyblindharper well it doesn't look like you need a very powerful computer. Anything with an I5 processor or Ryzen 5 should do. Either 8/16 gb ram, 16 if you can, also ssd drive of course
@oriol_gomez92 okay, Thanks for tips. How easy is it to set up windows these days? in the XP days sighted help was required.
@sillyblindharper you can hit control windows enter on windows setup screen to turn on narrator, you don't need sighted help anymore. but anyway most pcs come with windows pre installed if you get one that already has windows on it
@oriol_gomez92 ah cool! Thanks heaps. We haven’t talk in a long time. Are you busy? I can what’s app you?
@sillyblindharper sure you can!
