Both me and my wife's PCs are incompatible with Windows 11 and we don't know what to do about it for the best*.
I splurged on a quite powerful, completely silent one from Scan in 2017, and there's nothing wrong with it apart from Microsoft says no, and the cpu might not be compatible. Scan sells an upgraded version but I can't afford it now.
*No we're not switching to Linux or macOS.
@KaraLG84 Even though it's not officially supported, you can still install Windows 11 on them. I did it on my grandmother's HP from 2014 and it works with no issues.
@KaraLG84 I think you can create an installation image with Rufus that deactivates the compatibility checks and TPM
@KaraLG84 Either: force 11 to install, pay for the extended security updates, switch to the IoT LTSC edition, or do nothing. My machine supports 11 but I'm going with the second option.
@jscholes I bet we'll end up doing option 2 as well.
@KaraLG84 @jscholes If you wanted a good guide with your options outlined, please see this post:

@KaraLG84 I’m pretty sure there is a way to hack the registry to allow you to do it or something. Don’t know how accessible the whole process would be though.
